The Wi-Fi 6 in your Phone Everything you need to Know - Myphontech

WiFi is almost essential in smartphones when it comes to internet because of their speed and the cost of data when you download , it's integrated directly into the Soc , Huawei replaces the lack of 5G service in their last generation P50  with WIFI 6+ as Mr. Yu says: that 4G and WiFi 6+ are sufficient for most use cases.

What's mean WIFI 6 ?

WiFi uses the IEEE 802.11 standard released in 1997 with a limited speed of 1-2 Mbps.
every year WiFi has improved, in 1999 the release of
802.11b with improved speed up to 11 Mbps known as: WiFi 1
Several generations follow one another, each of them better than their previous one.
Until now (2022) WiFi 6 is the latest Generation , used in FlagShip smartphones iPhone 13,Samsung S22 , Huawei P50 ..etc.
The Samsung Galaxy  S10 is the first smartphone with WIFI6.

Wi-Fi Generations 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6 :

Until Now (2022) There is 6 Generation of WiFi  and 802.11 means their standard (IEEE 802.11)

WiFi    =  802.11
WiFi 1 =  802.11b  = b
WiFi 2 =  802.11a  = a
WiFi 3 =  802.11g  = g
WiFi 4 =  802.11n  = n
WiFi 5 =  802.11ac = ac
WiFi 6 =  802.11ax = ax

Now when you read the specifications of a phone, for example Samsung Galaxy S10
 Wlan: Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot
means which is support all generation of WiFi!.
