The Digital Signal Processor DSP in Mobile Phone- Myphontech

in the past all devices are analog based (like FM radio) the audio quality is really poor with a lot of noise! , but with the arrival of the Digital systems the audio quality is clearly improved with very good sound quality either for MP3 music or telephone call or even video sound , it is the DSP that does this.

Digital Signal Processor DSP:

DSP or Digital Signal Processor  is one part of Mobile phone Processor or (System On Chip SoC), they are widely used in audio signal processing but also in data analysis of gyro sensors and others.
like ( HexagonV5) is an DSP  developed by by Qualcomm for their snapdragon SoC.

What DSP do in your Smartphone ?

DSP plays several roles in mobile phone, among them:
  • Speech Compression.
  • speech transmission.
  • Voice recognition.
  • Audio and SONAR.
  • Gyro sensors and others.
  • CODEC 'for Audio'  (Work together with GPU  for Coding and Decoding  an Audio Video)

How your Voice is Recorded on the Mobile Phone by the DSP?

When you record your voice through your SmartPhone you speak to the microphone (your voice is analog) the DSP (Digital Signal Processor) only knows digital, so it needs an ADC (analog-to-digital converter) then it proceeds to the noise elimination according to algorithms (signal processing) then it records your voice in an MP3 file (compressed file), to listen to it in the speaker you do the opposite using the DAC (Digital to Analog Converter),The latest DSP version plays many roles such as image enhancement, computer vision, video processing and sensor processing.
